What do you say?
What should you do?
Should you give them space or not?
If everything seem just a little bit awkward and uncomfortable...if you have no idea what to do to anymore to support a friend, client, or family member who is grieving, keep reading.
Throughout the course of our lives we are all going to experience things that, to put it mildly, we don’t want to happen. We will also experience being the friend or loved one of someone dealing with a difficult circumstance, like loss or illness many times.
For example, I lost my daughter Amanda and over time learned how to tranform my grief into a celebration of life. I want to share my hard-won lessons so it is easier for others to reach a place of grace.
By exploring the nature of resilience together and how to access it when you need it the most, our work together will serve you and your loved ones now and for the rest of your life.
I've experienced both sides. The feeling of being abandoned by loved ones and completely alone. I have felt affected by well-meaning people who said things that didn't feel good to me in attempt to fix my problem and help me. I've also been the one others have felt abandoned by or the person who said the things that unknowingly hurt others.
There is a common sense and logic in the aviation field that applies here: put on your own oxygen mask first before you assist others. When we are in touch with our own sense of resilience and emotional health, we can more effectively serve others.
If you want to learn how to put on your own oxygen mask in order to more profoundly help others, contact me below for a *free consultation.
